Grumman F6F for Electric Combat
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was designed solely as a fighter, and solely to fight the
Japanese Mitsubishi A6M Zero in the Pacific Theater.  The Hellcat accounted for
two thirds of the Japanese planes destroyed by Navy and Marine pilots.

The F6F shown above is made from 25 lbs density foam, uses a Clark YH airfoil,
is powered by a CD ROM motor supplied by a 2 cell 1320 Mah ThunderPower
Lipo, speed controller is from Castle Creations, servos are three Hitec HS 55s and
the receiver is a Hitec 555.  All up weight is 12-1/2 ounces.  Ailerons, stab and
rudder are 1/8" hard balsa. Finish is Blue Velvet Ceramcoat Acrylic paint which is
then misted with 3M 77 and taped with 3M clear "Packaging" tape.
