| The mousse can muffler manufactured by Harold and Jim will increase the rpm of your .25 by a significant amount. Tina Zieman is turning a Master Airscrew 9X4 in the 18+K range with here OS .25 shown in the photo. You will need to order a MAC's Products header for your engine. The mousse cans had the pressure fitting installed, a short stinger in the rear and came complete with silicon tubing to slip onto the header. The total cost at the Tangerine Contest contest was $8 but email Harold or Jim for current pricing and shiping costs TEST REPORT: Saturday November 17th I had the chance to test the mousse can on one of my well worn Norvel .25 BB engines. This particular engine has been used for an entire combat season and has been very steady and reliable. Fuel used for testing was Wildcat Premium, 15% Nitro and 18% oil. Prop was Master Airscrew 9X4 and the glow plug an OS #8. With the stock Norvel muffler the engine ran a consistent 16,400 rpm with peaks up to 16,600. Changing to the Macs 2310 header and Kentucky Mousse Can the engine ran 19,100 peak rpm, but was backed offed to 18,850 for an entire 6 ounce tank. It was checked several times during the run and the rpm was consistent. WOW, this is incredible, and increase of 2,400 rpm just by bolting on a $25 header and $8 dollar muffler. You would have to be crazy not to try this combination. Its the cheapest horsepower increase you can get for your OPEN B combat engine I've ever seen. |
