Automated Foam Cutting System, with weight driven bow
Thank you to Scotland's Neil Gillies for the following design.  Neil has moved on to automated
foam cutters using CNC control.  He had published these plans a few years ago and has
forwarded them so that folks who wish to build their own version of the foam cutter may do so.  I
use a commercially available foam cutter from Tekoa, called the FeatherCut.  It is a quality tool
but commands a quality price, for those who wish to have a good foam cutter at do it yourself
price you can't go wrong with Neil's design
This is what the foam cutter will
look like when you finish it.  The
electric leads that attach to the
bow are pulled down by the bar
at the bottom. One of the leads
is set to the end of the bar for
the root cut and travels at
100% speed.  The other wire
for the tip is placed at a lesser
percentage and therefore
moves slower so you get
smooth cut working by yourself.
