At right the Cyclon PC 3 is a little more difficult to mount on an
HDPE plate than a normal engine. The fins add extra cooling to
the engine. Below you can see how the HDPE Is cut to fit the
engine.
The Cyclon spinner nut actually goes into the prop. The prop
must be reamed out to a total of 8MM. This is a big increase over
a standard prop bore. To do it accurately a fixture shown below is
made to hold the prop in place. A 3/16" drill bit is chucked and
slowly dropped into the prop hole to center the prop under the
drill chuck. Once it is centered and bolted into place a quarter
hole is drilled then a Great Plains metric step reamer is used to
open up the prop.
