1. Chris Quinn's IL10 inspired by a Warbirds Ltd (out of production) kit. The unique fuselage design allows a very strong but lightweight fighter to be built quickly. This is the finished ready to fly plane weighing less than three pounds.

2. In this view the top half of the fuselage has been removed. It is held on with rubber bands or tape. Removal of the top of the fuselage allows easy access to all the internal components. Notice the aluminum rails running the full length of the fuse. They are the stress bearing members. The fuselage shells simply complete the fighter's shape.

4. Chris cuts the fuselage shells to side view with a band saw then sands them to shape. One shaped the foam is removed for clearing the internal components. Once sanded it is painted with Krylon then overcoated with a clear fuel proofer.

5. The key to Chris' method are the aluminum rails. They have webs at the front and rear that are pop riveted into place. This is the same basic construction method that Chris uses for his Open B and SSC planes.
